Job Description

Our client, a global Tier 1 automotive parts supplier, is looking to add a Manufacturing Supervisor with a strong Lean Manufacturing mindset to their dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion “Continuous Improvement” of Standardized Work and the 5S process
  • Lead, develop, and manage performance of multiple hourly team leaders and their respective team members
  • Scheduling and assign employees per production requirements; direct and coordinate on daily scheduling of tasks to ensure smooth and efficient direction of labor and efficiency
  • Guide team leaders in optimizing resources in the most efficient manner consistent with standardized work procedures, work instructions, quality standards, and safety parameters
  • Maintain direct communication with other departments to coordinate work, minimize down time and ensure production and shipping requirements are met
  • Conduct daily and weekly safety inspection and training to ensure departmental operations and personnel are in compliance with corporate safety guidelines
  • Promote safe working practices. Conducts thorough investigations and reporting of accidents and incidents, following through the recommendations for corrective actions
  • Investigate, report and communicate all accidents, injuries and/or illnesses and near misses
  • Maintains and improves 6S standards and house-keeping in designated zones and throughout the plant
  • Build cross functional working relationships to achieve work and team goals
  • Understand and provide metrics to measure success and areas for improvement

Key Requirements

  • Proven leadership experience in an automotive manufacturing environment (Tier 1 preferred)
  • Successful track record embracing and championing Continuous Improvement Initiatives (TPM, TPS, LEAN Manufacturing, etc.)
  • Able to effectively present information to management and employees.
  • Computer proficiency (basic Microsoft office/excel capabilities)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and think critically in high pressure situations
